| Down through the years southern gospel music has always had newcomers to carry on the proud heritage of singing gospel music. The Gibbons Family will definitely carry on the tradition. The Gibbons Family from Dayton, Ohio, started singing over fifteen years ago; Dale, Gayle, and their two daughters, Stephanie and Ashley. Stephanie and Ashley recorded every time mom and dad recorded until the last few projects. For the past 21 years, Dale, Gayle, and the girls have been active in their local church where Gayle’s dad was the pastor. Gayle’s dad was her pastor for 42 years. In August 2001, The Gibbons Family decided to expand their ministry. Sometimes it is not easy to pull up roots and move, but serving the Lord and telling people about Jesus is their number one goal. Although Stephanie and Ashley don’t often travel with mom and dad anymore, they are active in their local church. Stephanie graduated in 2002 and Ashley graduated in 2003. So...about eight years ago, Tina and Roland Van Winkle (husband and wife) began singing with The Gibbons Family. Roland and Tina have one son, Josh Van Winkle, who at 6 years old, is already preparing to follow in mom and dad’s footsteps. In April 2003, Tony Bostic joined the Gibbons Family. Tony's tenor voice and Tina’s strong alto voice has created a unique blend of southern gospel harmony. The Gibbons Family has recorded nine projects and recorded their first video, which was live at Poasttown First Chruch of God, in 2002. The Gibbons Family released their first national release in 2002. “I Believe He’s Coming Back” has been released to over 100 radio stations across the US on the Counterpoint compilation CD; Radio Release Volume 3, Winter 2002, cut #4. As The Gibbons Family travels the highways, their desire is to see the lost accept Jesus and uplift saints along the way. The Lord has blessed The Gibbons Family and continues to open doors in their ministry. If you ever have the opportunity to be in a church service, singing, revival, or concert with The Gibbons Family, you will see a group full of enthusiasm and energy. The Gibbons Family is known for their old-fashioned camp meeting style singing. If you ever get a chance to see them get ready, “your about to have church”. |
